2023 Festive Drink Bingo
Drink bingo is baaaack, and it’s bringing all the good tidings! Get ready to earn stamps at two dozen downtown bars and restaurants, which have stepped up both their creativity and cheer factor even more this year. Think candy cane cocktails, a bevy of bubbles, and all the ‘nogs.
But, don’t take it from us. Comb through this list and start strategizing your route.
Game on, Holiday Style
Here’s how the game works: Head to any participating location and ask for a bingo card, get a stamp for every hot or cold beverage you buy (to-go counts, too!), rack up the bingos, and pre-arrange a DD if you’re planning to indulge in extra alcohol. Also know there are non-alcoholic alternatives for every boozy beverage, so everyone will have a great time playing this game.
Once you’ve gotten all your bingos—or run out of time—turn in your card at Santa Fe Mexican Grill & Cantina any time before January 15th to pick up your “Cheers” sticker and you’ll be entered into a raffle for a chance to win a gift card to your favorite bingo spot! Obviously, that means you’ll want to go for a blackout so you have first-hand knowledge of which drinks you want to revisit fo’ free. It’s science!
Bingo runs from December 1-December 31 this year. To the victors go the spoils.
Here’s what you’re sippin’:
Enjoy a Night at Nakatomi, which is essentially a mulled Manhattan. Enjoy the mouthfeel of duck fat-washed Sazerac Rye whiskey, house-mulled Atxa Roja sweet vermouth, black walnut, and blood orange bitters.
Sip on Sage Advice, a sage-infused tequila, lemon, honey-sage syrup, orange bitters, and aquafaba concoction perfect for the season. Interested in non-alcoholic options? Order a Hedge Your Bets, which has raspberry apple cider shrub, vanilla, mint, and tonic.
Escape the cold with a Winter Wonderland, a little candy cane in a glass drink of cool, blue curacao with Malibu rum, pineapple juice, and Peppermint Schnapps, topped with whipped cream and crushed candy cane. A non-alcoholic version of this very festive drink is also available.
Taste an Elf’s Break, an amazing after-dinner cocktail that recharges your energy with the sweetness of an elf: Creme de Cocoa, Vanilla Vodka, and Horchata. Order two to send one up to our hard-working buddies in the North Pole.
Indulge in the best of the season with a Milk Punch: Bourbon and baking spices dance in a rich, creamy nog that captures the essence of the holidays—decadence and cheer. Best part? It’s dairy-free.
Get in the spirit of the season with a Jamaican Sorrel Cider, a special made in collaboration with Greenwood Cider, a blend of mostly Pink Lady apples steeped with hibiscus (aka sorrel in Jamaica), cinnamon, and vanilla. It’s finished with a little lime juice and brown sugar for a semi-dry finish with Sangria vibes!
An unexpected—and welcome—player in the game, Molly Moon’s is serving up a Peppermint Cocoa Shake featuring their homemade peppermint cocoa ice cream blended into a rich shake, topped with fresh whipped cream, and crushed candy cane bits.
Warm up with a Red Velvet Mocha, a decadent malted milk chocolate mocha with Twig’s house-roasted espresso and steamed milk of choice. It’s topped with whipped cream and cocoa nibs!
Order up a pint (or a pitcher) of Blizzak Winter Warmer, brewed with an array of crystal malts, Munich, and a touch of black malt. It’s hopped with Chinook and Columbus, and amplified with the addition of smashed juniper berries in the boil. With a 7.5% ABV, this slow sipper features notes of sweet caramel, juniper, pine, and candied orange.
You’ve been waiting for mulled wine, haven’t you? You’ll get it in spades at Vinbero—their version includes wine and spices, served warm. Enjoy a steamy mug while you browse Vinbero’s retail selection or tuck into a small plate or some cheese!
If you haven’t heard, rosé isn’t just for summer. Order a glass of Tranquility Rose (Cabernet Franc with notes of watermelon, strawberry, tangerine, and rhubarb. Citrus and lychee lead on the palate, followed by flavors of ripe raspberry and lemongrass to finish) at the newly-opened Virtue Cellars at Main Street Commons.
You’ll want to order this drink just to say the name out loud. The Snuggle Bug marries cardamom and ginger syrups with two shots of espresso and your milk of choice. Topped with a dash of cardamom powder for extra, snuggly goodness, this latte will be your ever-so-slightly sweet and spicy companion through the holidays.
