Business Spotlight: The Paper Feather
Small businesses and the people who own and work in them are the heart of our Edmonds community. They make our downtown unique, authentic and welcoming.
In this series, we highlight the independently-owned businesses of Downtown Edmonds, and learn more about the folks that make them run!
Meet Jen Cullin from The Paper Feather.
What is your favorite part of your business?
Creating new designs for my stationery products and interacting with customers and the community!
Why did you start your business?
I started my business after a few years working with other companies on logo and website design. I have always loved sending cards in the mail, and started designing my own line of greeting cards and gift tags to sell at farmer’s markets, and eventually opened a shop in Pike Place Market. I fell in love with the process of designing, printing and producing handmade products and then expanded to carry other items from small businesses I have met along my journey! I was so excited to make a new home for my shop in downtown Edmonds and am looking forward to all the adventures ahead!
Why did you choose Edmonds for your business?
I have always loved visiting Edmonds and dreamed of having a shop in the downtown area. When we moved to Richmond Beach, my dream became a reality when a small space opened up just a few steps from Main Street!
What is unique about your business?
My business is unique in that I design all of the greeting cards and several other products in the shop. I also curate everything including vintage finds and do all of the seasonal decor and design. I focus on mostly small, women-owned lines to carry as well and many of them are local! I also take on a small amount of custom design work such as weddings and calligraphy which is fun to work with different clients.
Why should people do business with you?
I offer a selection of beautiful products which are unique to my shop, and love participating in fun events creating a friendly and positive environment for the local community.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I love to travel and enjoy cooking and testing new recipes on my days off!
