Dive into Fall in Edmonds
As warm days give way to brisker weather, kids have returned to school, and you get back to familiar routines, it’s a great time to welcome new trends as you bid summer a fond farewell. Downtown Edmonds has everything you need to say hello to the new season!
Fall shopping finds
With autumn just about here, many people’s favorite fashion time of year has returned: sweater and boots season!
Right now is a great time to add a few key pieces to your wardrobe to carry you through the coming months. We asked two Edmonds fashion experts on what trends to keep an eye on.
Kimberly Koenig, owner of Rogue boutique, told us, “We’re still seeing the influence of the late 80s, early 90s especially as related to sweaters and prints. Allll the sweaters this fall season. Bold prints, textures and colors. Mustard yellow is a big player. While animal print never really goes out of style, it’s having a resurgence this fall with many designers incorporating it into their lines. A couple of my favorite fall trends are houndstooth and a boot cut/flare denim. Houndstooth is showing up in dresses, jackets and skirts. Boot cut and flare styles are being featured in many denim lines. They are really flattering to a number of body shapes and are a great reason to buy new boots or booties!”
“A few fall trends I’m seeing: the color lavender, embroidery everything, plenty of plaids and busy floral prints,” shared Shelly Simmons of Sound Styles. “Art importance with line drawings on clothing and workout influence—the tuxedo pant! Leopard will never go out of style. Also, fringe, fanny packs and dark denim. Both of our windows feature some of the new trends!”

Are you ready for some football?
Another staple of autumn is football! Whether you prefer high school, college, or professional, this time of year begs for planning a get together to watch the action on the gridiron. You can find everything you need to put together a tailgate party or an in-home gathering in downtown Edmonds.
Pick up some cheese, olives, and other goodies to-go from The Cheesemonger’s Table, grab a few bottles from Arista Wine Cellars and then invite your friends over for a watch party.
Watching a game from the stands? Salish Sea Brewing Co. has growlers full of tasty beers to take along. Then swing by the deli at Ace Hardware for some of their nearly-famous fried chicken and head to the stadium for a pre-game tailgate.
Or if you’d rather just kick back and enjoy the game without much planning, grab a table at Taki Tiki or Rory’s to catch all the big games and watch along with a lively crowd of locals.
