Falling for More Than PSL’s Return This October

Crispy mornings, warm afternoons, and all the layers going on before they inevitably come off—autumn is here, and we’re prepared to weather its mixed messages. Edmonds was built for this season, and we have all the happenings to get you out Downtown to experience it fully. Just make sure you pack a light jacket. 

Bookmark this article because you’re about to enjoy a busy October—PSL in hand. Unless you’re against them, in which case, choose the beverage that feels best to you. Who are we to judge? We just want to hang out with you, so fuel up accordingly. 

From annual celebrations to once-in-a-lifetime shows, there’s something for everyone Downtown Edmonds this October.

Edmonds Scarecrow Festival, All October

Vote on dozens of scarecrows outside of Downtown Edmonds businesses this month. Hosted by The Edmonds Historical Museum, the 13th annual event is always a conversation starter with business owners, families, and visitors alike. We have it on good authority that the competition is going to be even stiffer this year, so check those maps and make sure you find all the ‘crows.

Taylor Takeover, October 3

Downtown Edmonds businesses are celebrating all things Tay Tay x The Life of a Showgirl with special events, merchandise, and activities all day long.

  • Musicology Co will open early at 10am for bracelet making, Taylor Swift listening sessions, and themed merchandise. A percentage of all day’s sales will benefit Women in Vinyl, supporting women and underrepresented people in the vinyl industry
  • Sunlight Gallery + Studio will host Swiftie-themed photo opportunities with Polaroids available for purchase. All Polaroid proceeds will benefit Madrona Children’s Theater.
  • Molly Moon’s Ice Cream will serve a special Swiftie-inspired ice cream sundae. Taylor Swift tribute artist Swiftified will perform live at the Main Street Commons stage (timing TBA)
  • Retail Participants, including Edmonds Crow, FIELD, Edmonds Bookshop, The Paper Feather, Anchor Chic Consignment, and Pear Tree Consignment will have special Taylor Swift activities, celebrations, and merchandise
  • Vinbero will serve Taylor Swift-themed mocktails and cocktails throughout the day.
  • Kelnero Bar will pour a signature Taylor cocktail 
  • Vertical Wine Collective will host an evening party with exclusive boxed wines, custom playlists, and all-around good vibes

Art Walk Edmonds, October 16 

Come see local artists all around Downtown every third Thursday of the month. Pro tip: If you miss the main event, you can visit any participating shop on any day to check out their displays. You just might miss the opportunity for snacks…or to meet the artist. Check out the October lineup and plan your stroll here.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Night, October 31

Don your cutest or creepiest costume and congregate Downtown—rain or shine—from 5-7pm to trick-or-treat, pet cute pups, and fill up your candy bags! NEW this year: A live costume contest at Main Street Commons!

Music and Entertainment

Baza Chocolates Pop-Up at Dusted Valley Edmonds, October 4 

Chocolate + wine? Say less! Save your friends a seat at Dusted Valley on October 4th from 3-6pm for a special pop-up with Baza Chocolates. They’ll have their decadent, handcrafted creations, and you’ll get to enjoy complimentary samples. Take home your favorites from a curated selection available for purchase. It’s the perfect treat-yourself moment.

Kelnero, October 4

Brown liquor lovers, gather ‘round. Kelnero is hosting a rye tasting on October 4th, where you’ll get to enjoy bold flavors, spice, sweet under notes (not a technical term, but we hope you get it), and more. Samples include Pikesville, Angel’s Envy, Willet 7 Year Little Wing, Michter’s 10 Year, Lock Stock & Barrel 20 Year.

Grand Kyiv Ballet’s Don Quixote, October 19

Head to the Edmonds Center for the Arts for this enchanting ballet based on Cervantes’ Don Quixote, where flirtatious Kitri and poor barber Basilio overcome her father’s opposition to find their happy ending. The production features fiery Spanish choreography and spectacular technical challenges like the audience-favorite 32 fouettés, all set to Ludwig Minkus’s uplifting music.

Graphite Arts Center, SKELETON Exhibit Through November 1, 2024

Take your art with a side of spooky? Check out local artists’ interpretations of skeletons in the Graphite Arts Center Library area all month long. It’s open to the public Fridays from 1-5pm and Saturdays from 12-4pm.

Sunlight Gallery + Studio, All Month Long

From a Taylor Takeover on her album release night to a Paint Cafe and Paint & Sip with Laura, and more, your creative juices will be majorly flowing at Sunlight this month.

Vinbero, All Month Long

Cin cin to the sound of music all of October at Vinbero! Here’s a sampling: two Jazz Brunches (October 12th and 26th), live jazz with Luiggi on October 11, and guitar with Lito Castro on October 25th. All music is free and starts at 7pm unless otherwise listed on Vinbero’s website
