Summer’s Calling Downtown

If you haven’t noticed, summer is all the rage in Edmonds. The city comes alive—car tops come off, sunsets get brighter, and mermaids perch on the rocks by Brackett’s Landing (really). There is an audible buzz around the downtown blocks, and we like to get in on the fun by doubling down on that lively energy with our annual Lovin’ Summer festivities.

We’re so grateful you love this season of sunny celebrations as much as we do (honestly, how could you not?), and that the events continue to grow.

As you read (or scan—we know how it goes, especially with the kids out of school. We bolded the most important things), look for a few new events you may not have seen in years past.

Every season is wonderful in Edmonds, but as the kids say, Summer just “hits different.” You know?

Let’s get into it.

(Oh, and pssst, if you’re worried about parking, study our downtown parking map here.)

Edmonds Lovin’ Summer

So, what is Lovin’ Summer? It’s our way of showing you how to follow the sun Downtown Edmonds. Participating shops and businesses affix clings to their windows featuring our bright graphic, are provided free stickers to hand out to customers, and hang posters promoting summer events (more on those below).

This is the time of year you hit the shops and then linger over an al fresco lunch, enjoy a mid-day manicure, and pop into a new-to-you place to chat with proprietors, iced coffee in hand. It’s the ideal season for ice cream dates, selecting a beautiful new art piece that the afternoon light hits just right, and beach reads that get a little sandy before you swap them with friends. Our Downtown businesses can help you with all of the above—and more!

Edmonds Lovin’ Summer Events

We have so many upcoming celebrations that we can’t possibly host them all ourselves. Many of what you see detailed below are events that are put on, or supported by, other city organizations, including The City of Edmonds, The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, Edmonds Parks & Recreation, Art Walk Edmonds, and the Edmonds Historical Museum. We truly are better together.

New to the list this year is the Edmonds Roper Romp, and the Edmonds Block Party returns with both 21+ and all-ages festivities.

Ed! is thrilled to be a sponsor of PorchFest Edmonds, which is happening in July this year—July 13th, specifically. Plus, the Brouhaha Backroom Blowout Sidewalk Sale will be July 12-13, and comes with discounted past-season merchandise from 20 local businesses along the city’s sidewalks. Find the list of participants here. Shop while you rock!

Plus, Oktoberfest returns in September, which is technically still summer. See? There’s always enough time for more fun.
