Business Spotlight: The Crumpet Shop
Small businesses and the people who own and work in them are the heart of our Edmonds community. They make our downtown unique, authentic and welcoming.
In this series, we highlight the independently-owned businesses of Downtown Edmonds, and learn more about the folks that make them run!
Meet Amy and Cooper Golding from The Crumpet Shop.
What is your favorite part of your business?
It’s a tie between (1) seeing our customers discover and enjoy our toasty crumpets and (2) building alongside our wonderful, growing team of crumpeteers!
Why did you start your business?
We’ve always wanted to do something entrepreneurial together. While working with your spouse can be a little crazy at times, we’ve found that we complement each other and help keep things balanced. It’s also been so fun to share this adventure with our two young boys, Gus (2.5) and Bennett (7 months).
Why did you choose Edmonds for your business?
We were drawn to Edmonds for its vibrant, family-friendly community and strong support for local businesses. The breathtaking setting doesn’t hurt either!
What is unique about your business?
For many guests, we’re their first crumpet—and often they don’t even know what a crumpet is! Helping people take that leap to try something new, then watching them turn into crumpet lovers who bring friends and family to share the experience is such a treat.
Why should people do business with you?
We strive to always be kind, honest, and fair—with our guests, vendors, and employees alike.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
When we manage to take a break from crumpets, we love heading to the mountains or the beach as a family. Cooper grew up skiing competitively and is now sharing that joy with Gus—and soon Bennett too!
Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about your business?
Crumpets are best enjoyed as finger food—so don’t forget to grab a few napkins!
