Business Spotlight: Crow

Small businesses and the people who own and work in them are the heart of our Edmonds community. To keep our downtown thriving, it’s more critical than ever that we think local first.

In this new series, we will be highlighting independently-owned businesses, and learn more about the folks that make them run!

Meet Jen Lawson from Crow.

What is your favorite part of your business?
I love finding small makers that are making incredible, unique items and bringing them all together to provide a truly unique shopping experience. And chatting with so many friendly and supportive customers, Edmonds is the best!

Why did you start your business?
My grandparents had a music shop for 40+ years, retail is definitely in my roots. Having my own shop has always been a dream of mine. I am passionate about finding unique handcrafted items, supporting small businesses, and adding something new to the already-amazing Edmonds downtown. I truly love coming to work everyday!

Why did you choose Edmonds for your business?
I love charming downtowns, strolling unique shops, eating and drinking along the way. Edmonds has it all! I feel very lucky to have landed where I did.

What is unique about your business?
None of my lines are mass-produced. I only buy from small makers, the closer to home the better! I am all for supporting local!

Why should people do business with you?
You won’t find my items in any other shop in Edmonds. carrying lines unique to Crow is very important to me. When you buy a special gift for someone you can be assured you won’t find it at any other shop downtown.

What are you currently doing differently during this time?
Slightly altered hours, mostly business as usual!

You’re also a volunteer member of the Ed! Advisory board. Why did you want to get involved?
I think it’s so awesome that Edmonds has a group that’s sole purpose is helping local businesses succeed. I love working with other like-minded business owners to keep the downtown core strong.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
My husband and I have (almost) 16 year old triplets!
