Business Spotlight: Practical Therapy of Edmonds

Small businesses and the people who own and work in them are the heart of our Edmonds community. To keep our downtown thriving, it’s more critical than ever that we think local first.

In this new series, we will be highlighting independently-owned businesses, and learn more about the folks that make them run!

Meet April Sotelo Greninger from Practical Therapy of Edmonds, LLC

What is your favorite part of your business?
Helping people!

Why did you start your business?
After 20 years I knew I figured out my style and approach to therapy, even if it was slightly different than the average. I’ve developed the experience and confidence to provide a mental health service one can trust. And being a private practice business owner, I do not have to depend on much else in this world.

Why did you choose Edmonds for your business?
We’ve lived here for a decade and I’ve worked here for two decadesā€”the area between city and home towns (Bothell and Lynnwood) is too convenient. My commute is 4 minutes long, and my stop at Walnut Street Coffee only augments that a bit!

Why is unique about your business?
I tend to be more pragmatic than the average therapist. I practice what I preach to be an example of healthy and happy. I conduct online sessions at this time but look forward to opening my physical office located in the Bowl, asap!

Why should people do business with you?
To learn stress and emotional management; to exercise Validation and Accountability for Self and Others; to get out AND STAY OUT of anxiety and depression.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I’m one of those introverts that acts like an extrovert! My favorite thing is to represent my kid’s school, Chase Lake Elementary. I’m always judging who’s gonna be on my zombie team if it happens…if…

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about your business?
My business is just one of many fighting for balanced mental health. If not mine, go somewhere! Find that Competency and that Chemistry that makes you feel both Safe AND Productive. Good luckšŸ€ keep going, keep looking, and do not get discouraged by wait lists!!! Stay safe, EdmondsšŸ˜·
