New Year, More For You
You clinked those classes and kissed your favorite person (or pet, no judgment here) when the ball fell. You rested and read and puttered around the house to your heart’s content. You hibernated and celebrated as best you could while living inside a contradiction of winter goals, and now you’re slowly, slowly, reemerging, whether under duress or from personal desire.
It’s 2026, baby, and the world is still spinning!
Downtown Edmonds, we have a lot to look forward to—more beautiful spaces to discover, more ways to treat yourself well, and more reasons than ever to explore what makes our community special. Whether you’re easing into ambitious resolutions or simply looking for small moments of joy, there’s more for you here.
So bookmark this page for when you need inspiration for your next Edmonds outing. We have a feeling you’ll be back here often.
More Beautiful Spaces to Discover
Downtown has been welcoming some exciting new arrivals, and if you haven’t explored them yet, now’s your chance.
Hoadley Gallery West opened at 319 Main Street in November, bringing contemporary art that’s meant to be felt, not just seen. Inside, you’ll find paintings, jewelry, and fine crafts that speak to your soul—if you let them, at least. Whether you’re a serious collector or just someone who appreciates beautiful things made with intention, Hoadley Gallery West is worth a slow, lingering visit (and while you’re out, be sure to pop into Driftwood Modern for similar artful inspiration).
If you’ve been walking near 5th & Main’s popular traffic circle lately, you might have noticed something new taking shape—or should we say taking *formme.* Common Formme will open its doors this month, ushering in a fresh approach to how we think about our homes and daily spaces.
Now, don’t you dare think of this place as a home goods store. Common Formme is part design studio, part curated retail experience, and entirely focused on intention. Owner Emily Ellstrom describes it as a place where design, construction, and wellness thinking come together. When you step inside, you’ll find carefully selected antiques, vintage rugs, European vessels, and home objects chosen for their craftsmanship and story—pieces meant to be lived with.
What makes Common Formme particularly special is its material library, where you can book consultations to explore finishes, surfaces, and fixtures with an emphasis on healthy materials and long-term livability. Emily, who grew up in Edmonds, chose to root her business here because the community already values what she designs for: thoughtful living, connection, and craft.
“Edmonds already lives the values we design for,” Emily shared. “It’s a place where people care deeply about how they live. They walk the waterfront. They know their neighbors. They show up for local businesses.”
Downtown especially.
Whether you’re hunting for a meaningful piece for your home or eager for guidance on a renovation project, Common Formme has both inspiration you can take home immediately and clarity for the spaces you’re shaping next. Stop by and see what speaks to you.
More Ways to Recharge Your Routine
Starting the year with fresh habits doesn’t have to mean overhauling everything. Sometimes it’s about finding glimmers of joy or initiating fresh habits in familiar places.
Here are a few ways to add more goodness to your 2026:
- Fuel your morning at Walnut Street Coffee—their cortado is worth the trip alone
- Treat yourself to lunch at Vinbero and make it a weekly ritual
- Pick up supplies for a new hobby at ARTspot
- Refresh your wardrobe sustainably at Anchor Chic or Pear Tree
- Spend a sunny afternoon people-watching at Leftcraft with a rotating craft beverage in hand
- Try a class at Barre3 or Twist Yoga, or Woodway Wellness
- Spin a new album on vinyl at Musicology Co
- Finally bring that load to the dry cleaner (rugs included! Corry’s Fine Drycleaning is right Downtown)
- Find a tax preparer
- And fill your space with fresh blooms from FIELD because you’re worth it
More Reasons to Fall in Love With Downtown
The beauty of starting a new year in Edmonds is that you don’t have to look far to find ways to care for yourself and your community simultaneously. Every visit to a local shop, every meal at a neighborhood restaurant, every class you take all add up to more connection, more discovery, and more reasons to appreciate where we live.
This year, give yourself permission to explore more. To try more. To invest more in the places and experiences that make you feel at home.
